Thomas suffers further setback as Walsh steps in for ride on Denman
On February 2th, 2009.
This is a picture of horse track
It's in Denman.
The people in the picture are happy.
They are a horseback riding.
It is a horse racing.
As you can see, there is a funny photo and a jockey is on the house.
PIECE OF NEWS SUMMARY:
Sam Thomas must be wondering where it all went wrong. Already bruised by a winter of high-profile calamities, he partnered only losers on Saturday as three different jockeys rode valuable winners for Paul Nicholls. Now, he must surrender the ride on the horse that brought him fame and glory in the Cheltenham Gold Cup last March.
Ever since that stirring day, Nicholls has been publicly deferring the issue of riding plans for Denman. It made sense, given the human and equine uncertainties of this sport, but it left a public debate unresolved.
In this, if in no other way, he was helped by the fibrillating heart that alarmed all in the champion stable and delayed the return of the unbeaten chaser. But the day is now looming and it will be Ruby Walsh who partners Denman in the Aon Chase at Newbury on Saturday.
Even last night, on the eve of five-day entries, Nicholls was tiptoeing delicately around the subject before confirming what Thomas must privately have suspected ever since his season began to turn sour.
